Does anyone here play BF3 on console at all? I don't have it for pc and probably wont ever get it, but I miss playing with a squad. I've got it for 360 and if anyone is down for some game hit me up.

First of all, I would like to thank ADK for their invitation and for letting me introduce myself ! For people that already know me from Teamspeak on the BF3 channel, you'll see that i'm a kind of person that like to have fun and laugh but also keep focus on the game (witch i think it's difficult because i know we're having so much fun anyway). I mean, i consider myself as a serious gamer when it's time to support my team, but what i enjoy too is when i'm having a good time with friends on a server and on a channel so we can share the same victory and disaster and laugh about it haha. Life is hard and cruel (that's what they say xD ) so for entertainment... i turn into pc gaming mode ! I prefer to keep a positive attitude and if i can transfer the good vibe in the game then i am at the rescue ! Ok ok...it feels good to rescue the universe, but i can't hold it anymore it's too much for me...the only thing i'm good is to destroy my enemy"s spawn beacon and eliminate their entire squad ! With the help of my team of course. Part of my life ; I have a good pc game library, many classics. I'm a regular pc user but i also have consoles at home and i try to be up-to-date with the video game industry. It is in constant evolution and i think it's important to know what is going on in the industry. I've start to play free online fps and learned all the beginner tactics that doesn't help and only get you kill, so decided to play with better players to improve my skills. Improving my skills didn't mean i became a better ''shooter'' but also a better communicator. The problem is, my orders wasn't clear enough because of my cheap microphone (damm i miss that microphone ) I've start to buy better pc gear and with time i realized i was more a gamer than a surgeon. So i put back the surgeon board game into my closet and really became addicted to pc gaming. PC GAMING ROCK !! Spread the word ! Open mind ; I speak french but i'm almost bilingual as you can see. But that doesn't stop me from being in a conversation for pc parts, gear, new games, new technologies, geography, history, broccoli, everything ! Social is part of my life so if you want to share something great or not great fee free to share it, i'm ears open ! Enjoying a good talk is always good. ADK Server found me ; It all stated after i came back from work (air vent inspection) that i realized that all this time i was playing on ADK server !! (after 94 hours in ADK's server) I'm the type of person that need to look over stats, look for a better way to improve. And i thought it was the right time for me to move for the next level. I received good support from ADK while gaming that i saw these people were serious so i joined. Fruit and Vegetable ; I want to declare that, yes, i eat my fruits and veggies like never before ! I think it is good for mental and physical health. And also...coffee. I don't know if it's possible to plug a coffee machine near my pc desk but i would like too. ( I'll see what i can do and get back with more update ;) 1 000 000 $; If i had a million dollars, i would create a Gaming Training Camp for gamers. I'm serious. That would be awesome the more i think about it. Time is running fast ; Life is good, and the best is to enjoy each moment and try do as best as we can. I think that way. Beside work, photography and aggressive skating (skate-park), what i like the most is to share gaming experience with a community that share the same passion for video games. And by joining a real club, i feel that i can contribute better and more officially for gamers out there in the lost world. Many play test for video game companies also had good influence on my learning and game analysis. My experience tells me that there is a lot of players out there with full potential, but maybe need a little more support and more guidance. And what a good feeling to receive support from an official. I really think it makes the difference in the mind of a person and he (she) will be more confident. I feel that i have the maturity and the potential of helping my community in real life but also in my gaming community. Gaming is not all about pc and hardware and points. It's also about the people. And i am glad to join the ADK Community ! Thank you !! I wish you all good gaming session! Best regards, ________________________________________________________ SirOssII7 (OssII7 in Teamspeak & Battlelog) but you can call me Seb !

All, Within the last month or so, I've noticed quite an increase in lag/stuttering in BF3 multiplayer and decided to investigate to see what I could do on my end and pass my experiences along to others. My problem is thus: In game, with perfmeter running, I notice significant stuttering. The stuttering is worse when I'm moving in some direction then look in another direction. The number of players in the server really doesn't make much difference, and it happens in all BF3 servers I play on, but our server does seem a little worse than others for some reason. Here is a YouTube video that describes what I'm experiencing. I'm not alone in observing this phenomenon, and there are tons of threads on almost every kind of forum you can imagine that discuss folks trying to get to the bottom of this issue. I would like to know if you guys have experienced it and what you did to solve it. Here's what I've done so far... System specs in my sig. I have most eye candy turned off, FOV is 70. Avg. CPU is about 70% - 80%. Never seen my CPU go to 100% in BF3. HDD access looks normal with no signs of excessive disk access. - Clean install Win7 x64 - Latest BIOS - Stock clocks - HT disabled - C1E disabled - Virtualization disabled - Latest chipset drivers - Core Parking diabled - Latest Nvidia drivers installed - Tried two different video cards, no change in the issue - Latest NIC drivers, IPV6 diabled (unavailable in my Comcast segment anyway) - Some network stack tweaks (no effect that I could notice) - Vsync on - FPS limited to 59.95 in user.cfg (with appropriate FPS set in game, with ingame vsync on) None of these changes made any real difference... the underlying issue is still there. As far as I can tell, my PC is running well and doesn't appear to be stressed by running BF3 Multiplayer. I've played the game since the beginning without any problems, until recently. I really don't think it's my hardware or my network. I'm going to try different games so that I have something to compare with. More as this develops. war

Battlefield/Frostbite 2 & 3 and Hyperthreading on Win 8.1
=ADK= warspite posted a topic in General Tech Talk
I recently upgraded to Win 8.1 and decided to give hyperthreading another try. On my system, it seems to work very well although I don't have any reliable way to benchmark my results. What I can say is that under Win7, with my frames locked at 117FPS, I would routinely get dips into the 90s, especially in firefights or whenever I look at the objective cluster outside the uncap. The stuttering was also horrendous, which was the main reason why many folks disabled it. Under Win 8.1 with HT enabled, my frames are a solid 117FPS, even on a large map like Caspian with 64 players. Zero stutter. Give it a try and advise your results! You just might be surprised. war- 13 replies

Upgrading hardware for BF4 at 120Hz? Think about this...
=ADK= warspite posted a topic in General Tech Talk
All, For the gearheads/enthusiasts among us, there is some very interesting discussion and experimenting by Chip Curry at Chip Reviews on CPU scaling with the Frostbite 2 engine in multiplayer. Since I just made the jump to hexacore, I thought I would weigh in as well with what I've seen for myself (I will elaborate this post as I learn more). Keep in mind that this post is more oriented toward those considering a serious hardware upgrade and want to game at 120Hz and avoid a CPU bottleneck. We get post on here all the time about folks seeking to upgrade their rigs and most of them do their gaming in multiplayer. Unfortunately, the vast majority of benchmarks we use use to make those critical hardware decisions are based on single player time demonstration game modes that don't correlate very well to how a certain piece of hardware will perform during multiplayer game on a populated server. Nowhere have I seen the disparity between single player (campaign) mode and multiplayer more sharply than in Battlefield 3. I have seen tons of posts on the EA, Battlefield 3, and Nvidia forums of frustrated people who've sprung for the latest hotness or doubled their GPU power with SLI only get no benefit from it whatsoever on BF3's large multiplayer maps. It really sucks to see your FPS remain relatively unchanged while your card's GPU utilization hovers around 50%. Speaking only for Battlefield 3, what I can see with Intel processors is that Frostbite 2 loves physical cores. The more you can throw at them, the better. One thing I missed at the very beginning of the article , is that Chip mentions that he's running Win8. At the time, I didn't think that was a big deal until I noticed that under Win7, I saw no benefit to running the 3930K over the 3820 at the same clock speed - none. What I did see under Win7 is a lower average processor load across all CPU cores with no increase in FPS. Why this is so is a mystery to me, although I do have some guesses. After much fiddling and trying to coax Win7 into providing some kind of performance boost from adding the physical cores, I gave up and did a clean install of Win8 to see if I could duplicate Chip's results. Under Win8, I'm finally seeing the benefits of adding the 3930K's two additional cores. My frame rates are up significantly (more data to follow) and my average GPU (GTX-780) utilization has increased from 75% to 95%. I held off upgrading to Win8 for as long as I could, but in order to get the benefit of running a hexacore CPU with Frostbite 2, I had no other choice. So, looking to upgrade your rig for BF4 (and Frostbite 3) multiplayer? I would consider... - Running a hexacore or better CPU. If you want to game at 120Hz on BF3's large multiplayer maps, a hexacore CPU is a must. I don't have any data on how well the AMD 8-core CPUs perform in BF3 multiplayer, but I would be very interested to know! If the performance warrants it, an 8-core AMD processor may be the most economical. - Running Windows 8. YYMV, but personally I could get no benefit whatsoever from adding physical CPU cores while running Windows 7. The difference in CPU scaling between the two Windows versions is that huge. Just some preliminary observations from me as the clock tics down on BF4 and lots of folks are considering hardware upgrades. war- 24 replies

When playing BF3 at ultra/ 1080p/ 90fov, I get an average of 90 fps with both gpus running at 90%+ usage. (low of 60/high of 120) When I play with custom, everything low except mesh quality on high and 16x antosotrophic filter / 720p/ 60 fov I get an average of 110 fps with both gpus running at 15-30% usage. (low of 70/high of 120). I changed my fps cap from 200 to 120 because on either all low or all ultra settings I would barely get above 120 anyway. Since I have a 120 hz monitor (Can be 144hz, prefer 120) I want to stay as close to that as I can. Would there be a way to get better preformance increase at all low settings. I still have the fps drops and my gpu is not working that hard. Is there anyway I can limit these fps drops so they aren't as frequent? Also, is there a way for my gpus to have a higher usage at lower settings to increase fps? Here is all of my specifications: CPU: i7 3770k overclocked to 4 Ghz CPU COOLER: Cooler Master Hyper TX 3 GPU: Crossfire Saphire HD 7870 oc edition MOBO: Gigabite Z77X-UD3h RAM: 16gb of g.skill trident ripjaws 1666mhz PSU: cosair 650 watt MONITOR: Asus VG248 Windows 7 64 bit I was running adm 13.4 drivers then I upgraded to 13.8 beta and see little to no improvement. When I overclocked my cpu from 3.5 to 4 ghz I saw a slight improvement in fps. The computer specs Dice used for the unedited Battlefield 4 trailer.
Joey posted a topic in General Tech Talk
When I read what Dice and AMD put together a monster to show off Battlefield 4 17 minute Single player 60 frames per second at 1080p (2.4 GB file) and 720p (1.2 GB file), I was literally dribbling. If you watched it on youtube, you would have only watched it at 30 frames which would have cut the file size in half easily + other youtube edits they do to lessen the load on their servers so you wouldn't have seen the true effect of their rendering. The computer itself, 4 thousand dollars including a Quad Core-I7 Intel processor. More surprisingly it contained 2 Radeon HD 7990 cards, which add for a total of 4 GPU and a unbelieveable 12 GB of GDDR5 Graphical RAM worth together around 1500 dollars. They rendered the video from 3k resolution (roughly 3200 x 2000 pixels) down to 1080p and 720p while keeping the 60 frames per second. The reasoning behind the monster of a PC is said to be because they wanted to show off an 'unoptimized alpha version' of the single player while making it look BOSS. For those who want to download the huge videos, the 1080p video is here and the 720p video is here which are both buffering 60 frames a second. It is said that DICE is currently working with AMD and Nvidia to release special Battlefield 4 drivers that are optimized for the game hopefully prior to release of the game. I am one individual here at ADK who is very excited for battlefield 4, I hope it lives up to its hype! So far so good! :) Cheers and thank you for reading! Joey V.A League of legends.- 4 replies

Introduced to our founder and showed me some organization in the chaos of Planetside 2. Been playing shooters since Doom 1 and always looking for something different and exciting. I've put a lot of time on Battlefield 3 and probably have been on ADK servers a few times. Usually like to play support[I like giving out ammo] but I am very capable with any of the rifles, smgs, lmgs and my favorite being shotguns. Very team oriented though I don't mind getting my hands quite dirty. Thought I'd leave this video as an introduction of sorts haha http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmkAM70fWZs&feature=plcp My little flash highlight that I had wished I shot in higher resolution. Anyways thanks for adding me into the community.

'ello. My tower just died and I don't really feel like buying a whole new one right now. I am wondering if anybody on here has BF3 on xbox/routinely plays on xbox, as that is where I will be playing for the foreseeable future. I should be on quite a bit the next few days, assuming sandy doesn't demolish my neighborhood. Decker89 is my gamertag, feel free to add me.

All I have to say is WOW, this is probably the worst day so far, and I want to thank all of you who have been reporting those people. AND thank you to our wonderful leroy who got rid of them ASAP probably no later than 3 minutes after they were reported.

Well I'm finally headed to bed after I waited for everything to come back online. @eZ- (Nick) and I got the servers going, woot! Thanks nick. I let the mixed server on 64 players hoping to get a base of players that will keep it at 64 no matter if we have it on TDM/Conquest. Some decent changes with the IR scope and the Tactical light, but we can talk about that stuff in the patch topic. Anyways. . time for bed, look forward to playing some BF3 in the afternoon!
