  1. Taking a break!

    Fellow ADK Members, Recent events on the Eclipse server forced us to leave. I have been looking for a new server ever since. However, to only find out that the game is still unplayable on Multiplayer on every server. There are only 3 servers out there with a good population, the rest die off. So, taking a temporary break from the game until something is done to correct it.
  2. Eclipse Sever Info *A MUST READ FOR NEW PLAYERS*

    *UPDATE* 1. New Shields Mod is now Live! Shield strength is now saved inside the block's ModStorageComponent inside the entity. this should allow you to spawn prefabs with charged shields and fix bugs with shields losing charge. 2. Shields are no longer based on the refinery block but are based on a decoy instead obviously this means enemy turrets will treat the shield generator as a decoy (who wouldnt shoot the generator first?) This also means no more refinery logic or inventories or confusing info text Mod no longer searches every block on the grid for every hit looking for additional shield generators. 3. There is now a limit of 1 shield generator per grid, if you want more shield strength/recharge modify the config or add tiered upgrade modules Shield recharge now happens every 10th tick to reduce CPU load (shield does NOT need to update 60 times per second). 4. Shield power requirements not modified by upgrade modules when at full strength. 5. Shields no longer protect against collisions with planets/moons/asteroids (stationary voxels). 6. Large grid large shield generator only functions for stations and resets strength when converted. 7. Collisions between two shielded grids will reduce the shield strength of both grids by the weaker shield's current points. 8. If one grid has a Station Shield Generator it's strength will not be decreased.

You will get half as much ore from asteroids (planets unchanged) Osmium mining rate increased by 8x Wheel Suspensions are enabled Small Ship Ore detector increased from 50m to 150m to match Large Grid Vanilla welder range reverted to pre-1.173.
  4. Status of the Server

    Fellow Space Engineers, The last few weeks, Eclipse server has been plagued with bugs, errors, and disconnects. For most of us that have been playing SE in Online servers know that this happens from time to time. Every update that Keen produces ends up fucking up almost every mod out there were it will take weeks to find the problem, tweak the mod, or just get rid of it. This takes time and I know that a lot of people are losing patience with it. If you need to take a break from the game, do so, just let me know I and I will keep you in the faction. Again, this will happen again, this always happens when keen changes something big. Here are some key tips to avoid curtain death in areas: 1. When you spawn in, kill your self and spawn into that area again. This is to make sure that all grids have been loaded and you do not fly into invisible ships or stations and die. 2. When jumping into a ship, jump back out, and in again. There has been several de-syncing issues were ships are not in the place you think they are resulting in what you think is open space but you are really beating your ship into a asteroid. 3. Try to reconnect to the server about every 1/2 hour. I have been having the issue were I can not longer weld things. I know that Chewybond has reported the same issue as well. If you guys have any more tips, please feel free to add them to the post. Other then that, have fun in the server, and I hope all will be fixed soon.

    Hey guys, so to answer you question @Boojangles89, yes, we have a Space Engineers section. I have been working on this section since I got back from deployment in September like I said I would in @HansJob "Let's Get this game Started" in August. Right now we have a faction with 10 players on the Eclipse 3 PvP online survival Server. @-ARES-, this section is being temporary sponsorship of both @Dowin and @Spyderbyte88. I will continue to work and grow this section. However, I have already expressed to Spyderbyte that same concerns that Hansjob mentioned above. The game is a lot more stable and playable then before, but it would require 1-3 people with coding abilities and a shit ton of time to run this server. Additionally, if we open to the public, it would be very difficult to get peoples attention since servers like Fountain Core and Eclipse have great mods and unique components to them that make the game more fun. I for one do not have the time or knowledge for this, but if any of you do, I pretty sure they would look into it. The best route is a active faction on a great server like we have now. I will be posting more information about the server and what is one it later. Additionally, I have a "let's play Series" that kind of highlights the aspects of the game and follows along with the growth of the faction and the action that we have been having. We do a month "Ships Show Down" were were break ships down in classes based off of tonnage and armament to make for fair and fun matches. They can be voted on for change* ADK Faction Ship Classification System: **All ship classifications are Chief_Rockies modified verison of Military Ship Classifications and Naming Guide by DarkExcalibur42** The purpose of this ADK ship classification system is to help define ships and their roles and capabilities. This is not a mandatory classification system, but it helps the faction with specific roles that would need to be meet for certain missions. Plus, it also adds a little Role play to the game, makes a little more fun. The COC can and will assign a classification to your ship if you have not done so yourself. This is for the ADK Ship Achieves that will be posted on the forums for other players to ask for copies of the blue prints for continued use. The COC is not taken ownership, changing the name, or color of your ship. Just the Class (Patrol, Frigate, Destroyer, Cruiser, and variant designations) based on tonnage and weaponry. [Example, the Pax Imperia by Scapegoat is now the ADKS Pax Imperia DD-1 and is still by Scapegoat] Small Grid - Very Light Craft - Under 50,500kg (Great scout range Scouts vessels). Light Craft - 50,501kg - 100,500kg (Great light, fast fighters). Medium craft - 100,501kg - 150,500kg (most of the bulk of all fighters). Heavy craft - 150,501kg - 200,000kg.(Heavy fighters, multipurpose support and attack craft, atmo and space combo fighter, light transports, and bombers). Super Heavy craft - 200,000kg - and over (Perfect heavy long range bomber, heavy transport, Atmo and Space Combo Fighter and bomber, multipurpose craft, and Torpedo craft). Small Grid Classification: Primary Mission Classification Code: This will be used to annotate the primary role of the craft. Is equipped with a Torpedo hanger. Small craft Hangar bay for 1 small craft. Medical, cryogenic pods, Oxygen generation and tanks with air tight compartments.] Tonnage- 3,000,001kg to 6,000,000kg Designations - FF - Light and fast variant Frigate. FG - Heavier variant that is more on close in action. Destroyer: The Destroyer is the workhorse of the fleets. Designed to be Well armoured, well armed, and still quick! This is the main fighting class! Specifically designed to be able to take on ships of all sizes, with proper support classes in place. Again, like the Frigate, it can be manipulated to have more emphasis on Guns then armor and size of ship (Swift Destroyer variant) or more on size and armour then guns (Pocket Cruiser variant). Or, stay with a middle design that can have the best of both worlds. [Medium crew with 8-12 guns. 2-4 Large caliber batteries (or 2-4 small caliber batteries) and 2-4 automatic missile system, 4 Hard mounted crew operated cannons or missile launchers at forecastle of ship, and the rest are heavy gatling gun mounts. Is equipped with a Torpedo hanger. Small craft Hangar bay for 1-2 small craft. Built for fast and in-and-out fighting and usually is the point of the force entering areas first. DD - Just a basic destroyer in the mid weight and weapons range. The all around package variant. PC - The Pocket Cruiser is the Heaviest and most armed. So big is should be a Cruiser, but not yet equipped in that class or at same tonnage. Cruiser: The Combat Support class. The cruiser is fairly large class ship. More than likely one of the largest ships to be in the frontline of fighting. It’s main role is not direct head to head fight, but more distant strikes with heavy guns and missiles. Heavier and less more agile, main combat is not the purpose of this ship but if confronted, it will hold it’s own and make the contender pay. [Large crew with 10-15 guns. 4-6 Large caliber batteries and 2-4 automatic missile system, 4 Hard mounted crew operated cannons or missile launchers at forecastle of ship, and the rest are heavy gatling gun mounts. Huller Small grid vessel that is literally a cargo container with a cockpit and some thrusters. [This classification can be used for Drill ships, and Construction Craft (i.e. Welders and Grinders).] Designations HYG - Hauler Galactic. HYA - Hauler Atmospheric. HYC - Hauler Combined Atmo/Galactic. Light Logistics Ship Large grid ship designed to transport goods from destination to destination. Has has 1 large container, but can have several small or medium containers. Can have self defense built in. [This classification can be used for Drill ships, and Construction Craft (i.e. Welders and Grinders).] Designations LLG - Light Logistics Ship Galactic. LLA - Light Logistics Ship Atmospheric. They can be voted on for change* Appointment List: Commander and Chief (CoC) - Chief_Rockie Admiral (ADM) - Scapegoat Admiral (ADM) - Believe Faction Structure: **All branches might not be needed in all situations. In the vase of a low population, all members will be classes in military branch.** *Due to number of players servers can have, branches will not be implemented currently. All members are Military.* Two Branches of the Faction - Civil Engineering Branch - This branch is responsible for all Space Stations, Forward Operating Bases, and Asteroid/Moon/Planetary Bases. Will be doing the bulk of the mining and repairs to bases and stations. Can own smaller Corvette Warships and small grid fighters. We be used as gunners and infantry support in combat. Military Branch - This branch will be responsible for all military operations and movements. Conduct patrols of territories, conduct scouting and reconnaissance missions, blockades of resources, and impedance missions. Commands ships and vessels of all sizes, but, mostly capital ships of Frigate sizes and larger. Can build and design their own ships or have a Civil engineer to build. Triad Committee - Is the voting body of the faction. All Officer ranks have sitting positions on the committee. The CoC will act as a Chair and during the vote, and only using his 50% of the vote on a “Locked” vote. All votes to pass must be ⅔ or ¾ to win. If the vote is a ½, it is considered a “Locked” vote. The locked vote will be attempted again. If “Locked” again, the CoC will then use his 50% of the vote to break the “Lock”. Faction Ranks: **All roles might not be needed in all situations** Commander and Chief (CoC) - Is the head of the faction and has final say on almost all faction decisions. He receives input from the Officers and heads the Triad committee. Must be a full member of ADK with at out standing reputation in the community. Community Manager and Game Sponsor in ADK Muster approve the replacement given. Admiral (ADM) / Master Port Engineer (MPE) - The Admirals and Master Port Engineers are leaders in their Branches. Overall responsible for all Ship Movements and engagements and build projects. Can accept new members to the Faction. Are sitting members on the Triad Committee and hold other responsibilities in the Factions such recruiting, tactics, and Liason official. Must be a full member of ADK. Must be in the Faction for more than 6 months. Must be voted on by the Triad Committee. Captain (CPT) / Port Engineer (PE) - Is the second in command and is chosen Triad Committee. In the Absences of the COC or ADM/MPE, the CPT/PE are the leaders of the faction. Must be a full member of ADK. Must be in the Faction for more than 4 months. Must be voted on by the Triad Committee. Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) / Master Journeyman (MJ) - Most experienced players in the faction. As CWO/MJ, they will be responsible for carrying out all orders and training new Able Bodies to become PO. Must be a full member of ADK. Must be in the faction for more than 2 months. Petty Officer (PO) / Journeyman (JO)- Defined role as the working class of the faction. They are the many that do the recon, attacks, building, and mining. Must be a full member of ADK. However, that does not mean that we are not organized and effective. Casual means that we do not require members to be at every team event. Come to the events that you can make it to. Activity in the faction is required, so is teamwork. But, real life and family first. Now, I consider the faction as a Militant trading company. More of a protection force then a force activity going out seeking trouble. Since that is my vision, I have set most of our Code of Conduct and Rules of Engagement to reflect that. We will defend ourselves and protect our allies without question. For that reason our faction Motto is “ADK territories will be paid for in enemy blood!”. Core Values - Teamwork makes the dream work. A faction that plays together will stay together. So, needless to say, this is an integral part the faction. Selflessness, keeping the thought of the factions benefits over a personnel one. Commitment, staying with the project or mission until the bitter end. Members Code of Conduct: No destructive trolling other Team Members EXAMPLE: Running Ships into Team Ships Flying allied ships into certain doom Destroying other allied factions ships resulting in WAR Do not commit acts of war with allied factions unless confirmed. We do not attack opposing faction base locations on first contact, first line of offense is gathering intel. When dealing with Neutral faction follow the Rules of Engagement. There is to no using of any exploits in the game meaning no game breaking scripts. “Share with Faction” must be done on your equipment. This is why we have a interview process when joining the faction. However, try to request permission before using someone else's equipment. Back up all build designs in your blueprint book! EXTENDED AMOUNT OF NON-ACTIVITY FROM MEMBER WILL BE VIEWED AS LEAVING THE FACTION AND SERVER! Even though the Faction is a Causal group, there is still a mission and vision for the group and everyone's participation in the fun is needed! Every member must log into the server at least 1 once a week. The following is a list of actions in a time line that will be taken to keep the faction with an active group of players. 2 weeks of non-activity and the faction will assume control of all equipment (This is due to server restarts can sometimes make grids Static, non-movable). 3 weeks, and the members equipment will be recycled back to the factions inventory (Clutter on the server slows done playing speed). 4 weeks on non-activity will result with member being removed from faction (Factions have a limit in the server due to server size, if you are not playing I will make room for more that want to). To Avoid non-activity policy from taking effect on you, please notify leadership that you will absent from the server via ADK forums for a any reason, some examples are due to, “need a Break”, “Family in town”, “Vacation with Family”, “tough week at work”, “being deployed”, so on and so forth. The communication piece is your responsibility, not the factions. The rules listed both above and below they are given as a contract. Once you have your recruitment interview, you can’t not bend the rules. Discord Server Rules: See official ADK Community rules. Rules of Engagement: If the neutral or enemy target begins to open fire, even if said to be accidently, you are allowed to open fire on the neutral or enemy target. Follow the rules below. Anyone lower than a Captain can not plan a meetup with an neutral faction that is allied in the faction category in the server. Any faction member is allowed to attack an enemy ship as long as it can’t affect any other faction members without their consent. Remember Recon is are first line of defence and offense.
