  1. Need pro advice on windows

I personally would say 8.1. It uses less resources and seems to run games better. On my machine at least. If you hate the metro menu you can always grab Classic Shell or one of the other 1000000 programs to get a normal start menu. It's personal preference at this point really. Try both and keep one.
  2. Incoming new wave of hackers

    @[member='Dynasty'] Hacking again
  3. Razor Game Booster

All it basically does is clean up your background processes. It's really handy if you have a lower end system and want better performance. I used to use it, but it never really gave me that much of an increase.
  4. Elder scrolls online beta weekend.

It's a closed beta test but if I remember correctly if you ever signed up (even if you didn't get accepted) you got a key in your email. I've got an extra key if anyone wants it. Just send me a PM.
  5. This how bored I am....

The Elder Scrolls series, Fallout series, Mass Effect series, and a mass of indie games keep me sane without internet.
  6. Am I the only Texan in ADK?!

    Also Houston!
  7. Starbound (Terraira V2)

This game has a lot of potential. I'm really excited to see what it's like when it's all done. I just hope they don't abandon it like they did with Terraria.
  8. CS:GO

  9. affordable gaming laptop

MSI has some pretty good ones that are worth looking at. They also have bare bone laptops. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=Property&N=100006740%20600364042&IsNodeId=1&maxPrice=999.99&PropertyCodeValue=33834%3A339374&bop=And&Order=PRICE&PageSize=20
  10. Meeting with Air Force Recuiter, Any Military Members?

Served 3 years in the Army also as a Small arms/Artillery repairer. Along with what Highstrung said I would definitely recommend looking at all of your options before choosing a branch. All of your job choices will be based off of your ASVAB score, so if you haven't taken it study for that stupid test. It doesn't matter if you're fresh out of school or whatever grab a study guide from your public library and study for it hard. That test will determine what jobs you are eligible for which means that test determines the rest of your life. Your recruiter will have practice ASVABS so take those as much as he'll let you. Personally I was very fortunate to have an awesome recruiter that walked me through EVERYTHING. I've heard the horror stories of some and I lucked the fuck out lol. Once you get through your ASVAB and decide what you're going to do don't sign anything until you get exactly what you want. I joined back in 2006 when they were DESPERATE for people and they were handing out bonuses for EVERYTHING, so check in to what bonus you are eligible for. Military service is an honor and you should treat it as such, but keep in mind that you're about to get buttfucked by your country in the process, so anything extra is awesome. You'll be taken to your local MEPS to talk to the guys there about your contract and usually they'll try to hardball you with the MOS that you want if it's something that's not in high demand, but keep at it and don't sign a contract for anything that you absolutely do not want. Walk out nd tell them you'll go to another branch instead if you have to. Once you get your contract squared away you'll most likely be put in to a Delayed Entry Program (DEP). From there you'll PT and see your recruiter about once a week depending on how long it is until you ship off to training. In this phase there are usually things that you can do to rank up before you even ship off, so figure out what they are and for the love of god do them. You can usually make it to E-3 by the time you ship off. Your recruiter usually won't tell you outright what these are or that this is a thing, but ask.   If you have any questions I still have a few friends in that would have more information on current events because it's been 7 years since I've had to deal with any of that shit.
  11. Computer Wiz? i need your input, My Specs

Looking at your posts, but not knowing your budget I think this is what you are looking for. The prices will be different based on where you buy everything from and sale/combo deals.   http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1Rp3C
  12. Very disappointed in BF4 Beta

While I don't know the way a HEAT round actually tracks, I do know that that's not the way any round that uses the acronym HEAT works. HEAT stands for High Explosive Anti-Tank. Basically what these rounds are made to do is pierce armor enough for the warhead to create a huge explosion inside the vehicle.   I can't speak for any other country, but in the US every soldier is issued a kevlar vest with SAPI (Small Arms Protective Insert) plates. These plates are designed to "protect" the wearer from anything up to a 7.62 mm round, while the vest by itself will only stop a 9 mm Parabellum round. These plates are very effective and personally I do not know how many rounds you would actually be able to take with these before you went down (dead or other wise).   Personally I enjoyed the beta. It's performance on my computer is garbage, but that's to be expected. Overall I think this beta is much better than the BF3 beta was and I'm excited to see the upcoming patches that come out. BF3 was buggy as hell when it first came out, but they ended up doing a pretty good job towards the end and maybe even learned from their mistakes. Personally I hope they introduce am update system that wont make players wait 3 months before they patch something, sometimes not even fixing it.   That being said, I'll stick with Counter-Strike for now. Until more information is out about plans and bug fixes/patch systems.
