StarCitizen 3.0 Gameplay Preview - Gamescon 2016
Rail Tracer replied to GreatBeast666's topic in Star Citizen
I definitely think 3.0 looks like the kind of release I would play at least once a week. I am actually more excited about the SQ42 info to be announced at CitizenCon in October. -

Just go to the promotion page at https://robertsspaceindustries.com/promotions/dragoncon-2014, make an account, enter the coupon code below, and start downloading. This will be good until September 5th so anyone that's thinking of backing should definitely try this out. Star Citizen Arena Commander Gametime: Sharing
Rail Tracer replied to thatirishguy's topic in Star Citizen
Just played the new game mode, capture the core. Didn't bother to go for any kills. This mode made me realize the Aurora is painfully slow so I just focused on capturing and dodging with its low-profile. -

They included citizens up to #250000. I got into the dog fighting as #242313. There is a lot of ramming and jousting going on. My Aurora loses its guns with the slightest damage to my ship so I have no choice but to ram.

Best bang for your buck HOTAS/Throttle/Peddle combo.
Rail Tracer replied to Valashar's topic in Star Citizen
I just use a joystick, the Thrustmaster T.16000M. From what I have read, it is the best budget/beginner joystick on the market because of its precise HALL sensors. It feels great for me and was very affordable, especially if you have a Microcenter nearby. If you're looking for a full HOTAS/peddles setup, you will probably be spending at least $100 just for the peddles alone. If you're just looking for a HOTAS (Joystick + Throttle), then the Thrustmaster T.Flight HOTAS X will probably meet your needs while staying relatively affordable.- 18 replies

Red Orchestra 2 Free? (Someone Just sent me this)
Rail Tracer replied to DowntownRiots's topic in General Gaming Discussions
Yea, I posted this in the internet deals section yesterday. -
This was, for me, far more enjoyable than SAO. The range of characters lend a lot to this show. In SAO, it was all about the main character and his woes of being an overpowered player that might as well have been playing a single player game in a multiplayer world. In Log Horizon, I found each character developed beyond just their relationship to MC. Even the MC of Log Horizon, a veteran player, only has as much knowledge or power as the next veteran player. Sure, he can strategize but he certainly can't solo a boss. The world of Log Horizon isn't as clear cut as "Oh no, we are stuck in an MMORPG!", either. They acknowledge that the world they're in mirrors the game they used to play but they realize that it's not just a game once its their reality. No, they're not forced to realize it like in SAO. They don't get an announcement from the evil just for the sake of evil admin that they're stuck in the game. They don't die in real life when they die in game. They respawn just like they would before. What made them realize the weight of the reality was their interaction with the world and its inhabitants. They even make it a point to call the NPCs, "People of the Land" instead of just NPC. I'm very much looking forward to the second season in fall.

Windows 8.1 Pro [Major issue Discussion]
Rail Tracer replied to NeoChaotic's topic in General Tech Talk
So the issue was your motherboard bios and not Windows after all. Also, I recommend not using software to overclock your processor. So many things can go wrong with that.
