  1. Microsoft Surface Studio

Not bad, not a huge fan of the keyboard. Maybe that's good enough for some UX designers or the like.
  2. What are you listening to right now?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQ2bF2QWKSg   Here's one of the songs of my current favorite bands

Here's mine   The desk is from Anthro's website here. It is the 36" desk and got the extra adjustable/ergonomic keyboard tray.   The specs on the gaming PC (the top tower on the shelf) are below   OS: Windows 8 CPU: I7 2600k Mobo: Asus Z67 Sabertooth Graphics: 2x EVGA GTX 780Ti Classified PSU: Rosewill Gaming 750w RAM: 4 x 4GB Mushkin Silverlines Storage: 240GB SSD Audio: Logitech Z623 2.1 Monitor: BenQ XL2420T (Main), 2x  Acer AL22W Case: Rosewill BlackHawk Ultra tower   With the 780TI SLI, I get about 140fps average on BF3 with ultra settings on my main monitor, I could game on 3 monitors but for me, that's too much distraction to look on 3 screens. I only really need 3 screens when writing code.

@[member='Tex']   absolutely, you can't learn the advanced tactics without a very solid basic foundation.   Now given that luckily BF3 has been free recently (Both a blessing and a curse), you should have plenty of opportunities to play on different servers and play with folks who are in a similar skill level. I guess it is about time to make a new account myself since I dont know how many closet colonels are out there with the sudden surge of low ranked players.
  6. I might join the dark side

Happens to everyone, even me on maps I have never played on.   just try to orient yourself and look at the map before spawning for the engagement areas. The campaign would be a good start to get used to the controls.

    - aside from what Darth Boog stated, as much as possible, shoot behind good cover, minimize the area by which you can get shot. Ideally, shoot behind walls which your sights can barely poke out.   - If you are a medic, drop a medpack on your feet (or again, behind a concrete wall where it cannot be shot) if you plan to stay on a spot for a few moments to check for possible targets.   - M16A3 is my go-to weapon for assault, G36 / ACR (red dot, heavy barrel & foregrip) for engineer.   - Whenever poking around corners, I tend to keep my sights up (I configured the weapon zoom to be toggled rather than clicked, less tiring for me).   - As soon as you can, get used to a few vehicles. Land based armor (Tank, IFV, Mobile AAs) should be the easiest to get acquainted. Try to travel only on open spaces that gives you plenty of room to maneuver. Next that would be helpful would be helicopters. The better heli pilot you get, the more you can help the troops on the ground. Jet piloting can be quite tricky since you have to get into dogfights, unlike helicopters, where as long as you can fly low & fast to dodge missiles and evade locks, jets dogfighting requires you to control your speed. However, if you get good with a jet, you'll be racking up kills way faster than anything else.   - If you are interested in learning how to fly helis or jets, there are plenty of videos from very respected dogfighters and chopper pilots who give tips & tricks on how to maneuver and be an even bigger asset to your team.
  8. Favorite Slice of Life / Rom Com

@[member='Fishy']   Ah! My Goddess (when you have a goddess as a girlfriend, how can it get any better?)   Boys Be (from the soundtrack to a few giddy moments, gotta love the baseball episode)   Girls Bravo (not really something for kids, but there are quite a lot of comedy on this show)   Tokimeki Memorial Only love (I've had quite a few female friends watch this, pretty funny and quite giddy sometimes)   Midori no hibi (pretty fun RomCom, short episodes though like Boys Be, Tokimeki Memorial: OL and Girls Bravo)
  9. My First Build

@[member='PunishaKelv']   A slightly better RAM memory might mean a slightly better CPU throughput. The loading speed (if you mean by loading the game) is still determined by the slowest component on your system, which is the hard drive. If you switch from SSD to a mechanical drive and back, you will easily see a performance difference without doing synthetic tests.
  10. If I ever..

@[member='Tex'], just always remember this saying........  "Never be rude to an Arab"..... You'll thank me later once you find out what that meant :)
  11. My First Build

@[member='Bromance']   No problem dude, that link actually helped me make my decision on whether I should buy a new cpu/mobo because of the higher number of PCI-E lanes availabe before buying a new set of graphics cards as a major upgrade to my current gaming system. I decided to stick with 1155 and use the x8 / x8 SLI. Now my only concern is if I will have a CPU bottleneck with an I7-2600k and the 780ti classified in SLI
  12. My First Build

I'd like to pick your brain a bit with this quote based on these performance tests:    http://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/Impact-of-PCI-E-Speed-on-Gaming-Performance-518/   PCI-E 3.0 & PCI-E 2.0 (both X16 and X8, including SLI'ed) have very little performance gains. so even if you run at an x16 SLI as opposed to x8, the worst is a 3% performance hit, which in my opinion falls well within tolerance.   of course, the tests are done in 1080p. That might be a contributing factor
  13. If I ever..

There's too many funny quotes on that movie alone....... Wait till you watch the part about "The bridge of death".
  14. If I ever..

Speaking of fictional characters, I'd love to talk to the french guys again in the Monty Python Holy Grail   "I fart in your general direction, your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of.....elderberries!"   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8yjNbcKkNY
