Like any other event, you will have the opportunity to not only unlock new skins, but also any of the older Summer Games skins. Most would comment that some of the new skins aren't as great as previous events, however skins like Genji's Kendoka or Hanzo's Wave skins are actually pretty decent. Furthermore, if you missed any of the older Summer event skins, you will be able to earn them at a discount! Any older event skins will always be cheaper than the newer ones that are currently available. For example, a new legendary skin would cost 3000 tokens, while an older event legendary would now cost 1000 tokens.
Weekly Challenges
During the Summer Games 2019 event, there will be 3 weekly challenges. Each weekly challenge will allow players to unlock 2 player icons and 1 skin. While it is not a new concept, this does mean that these specific skins are only unlock-able through the weekly challenges. In order to obtain all rewards, you will need to win 9 games per week.
Week 1: Shark Attack Spray (3 Wins) | Punchimari Icon (6 Wins) | American Reaper Skin (9 Wins)
Week 2: Snorkerling Spray (3 Wins) | Tennismari Icon (6 Wins) | Zhongguo Mei Skin (9 Wins)
Week 3: Sand Castle Spray (3 Wins) | Footballmari Icon (6 Wins) | Bundesadler Reinhardt Skin (9 Wins)
With all of this said, and with there not being much of anything new, have fun with the event and enjoy yourself!
