Make Arma, Not War

     In case you haven't heard about Arma 4 or Arma Reforger, allow me to give you guys and gals a a brief update:

 

     Arma 4's new engine is being tested with Bohemia Interactive's newest release, a game that isn't really a game, the test-build known as 'Arma Reforger'. This is simply a testing platform for the new engine and not representive of what you can expect from Arma 4. But, yes, Arma 4 is happening. As of now, there is no announcement from Bohemia Interactive about Arma 4 release date. On May 17, 2022, they confirmed that Arma 4 is currently in the making, and the long wait of fans for the next Arma title is now about to get longer.

 

     In the meantime, join me in playing Arma 3, the 2013 mil-sim that is still going strong nearly 10- years later.

I think I only have Arma 2, and even then I didn't play it much because it was a bit too complex for me to get into casually.  That and the one time I tried playing DayZ the guys got me connected to the server then stopped talking to me like I was gonna rob them.  I was asking them how to open my inventory, not sure how dangerous they thought I'd be.

I don't know man, that sound sort of sus. Why you need to go into your inventory?

@thatirishguyyy I played Operation flashpoint2 years ago and loved that game. If Arma is essentially a better version of that then it may be something I’ll look into getting.

The history is sordid.

So the first game, Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis and its expansion Operation Flashpoint: Resistance, was developed by Bohemia Interactive Studio. The second games, comprising of Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising and Operation Flashpoint: Red River, were developed by Codemasters, which was purchased by Electronic Arts.  Arma: Armed Assault, Arma 2 and Arma 3 are considered the spiritual successors to the original Operation Flashpoint: Cold War. 

The second set of games played similar to the first set of games. If you enjoyed any of the Operation Flashpoint games then you would enjoy the Arma 3 mechanics. Plenty of games modes and mods. And King of the Hill servers are always packed 90+ players on Code Four Gaming servers.

They just patched SuMatra KOTH servers to run the latest version of KOTH so a lot of people are getting into it the last month.
