I run my video server open air purely because I am to lazy and cheap to buy a case that can support the amount of drives I am using. Count the Hard Drives :P

attachicon.gifIMG_1126.JPG

My gaming system is to damn tucked into its nook to be removed but its in the antec p180 inbetween my stereo and the desk.

attachicon.gifIMG_1128.JPG

Its an i5 3570k, SLI 460 gtx, 16gb ram, 256 gb SSD, and a 250gb in a hotswap tray for rotating archival. I've got nearly 20 other systems squirreled away but they all mostly lie dormant besides these 2 and my Poweredge 1950 noise maker in the garage for esxi and other labs.

Wow looks nice even when not in a case, at least you can ensure good cooling....Hope your not in an earthquake prone area

Lets see, here is my current build: Apparently I can't do images here, so link http://s129.photobucket.com/user/mrdimasi/media/IMG_20141017_173004_960.jpg.html?sort=3&o=1

Now what's inside you may be wondering?

CPU: AMD Athlon II? 760k r7unning at 3.8, OCable to around 4.1

Mobo: MSI 78A-35E (just a basic FM2+ mobo, and it's much easier to find this in mATX than other affordable mobos)

Video Card: Gigabyte R9 270 (beastly and quiet with great heat dissapation)

Case:Bitphenix Phenom (not my favrite case, but it is compact and it looks sexy. I think 4 dimensions, it is around 13x13x15)

RAM: 2 sticks of 4GB, 1600 G. Skill Sniper.

Storage: an Seagate SSHD (i love this thing, its faster than most 7200 rpm HDDs but a bit more expensive).

Monitor: Beautiful Asus 22.5 inch (not much better than 1080p tho), but it has great responce time.

Mouse:Utechcity s9omething or other MMO mouse.

Keyboard: Perrix non gamer keyboard. I still love it.

My little baby, only thing i don't like is that it uses socket 1150 and not 2011 but would of meant double the cost and couldn't afford, this doubles as a render pc to and workstation from which i develop cute stuff. It was built about a year ago and still building unto it more fans and hardware. :)

Config:

  • Mobo
    Gigabyte z87x OC
  • Processor
    I5 4690K
  • Graphics
    Gigabyte 280x oc v2.0
  • PSU
    Super FLower 1300w
  • RAM
    8gb Kingston @2400mhz
  • Case
    Corsair Carbide Air 540

@plaxus

Yap had at least, more than 2 280x at least on 1150 socket, where it is as 8x/4x/4x/4x pci-e has very little performance improvement.

WIth one between 10.000 and 11.0000 points in 3dmark 11 with 2 @14.000, with 3 @14.500, with 4 @15.000.

So i sold some of them and i am have regrets not having a 970 nvida. :))

And even had temperature problems with 4 of them. :)) instead of @55 degrees c they even could get to 100 degrees easy. Even though this is the choolest case i had as temperature point of view.

Amd has some serious game compatibilities, even though i really dig mantle.
