Need more USB 2.0 & 3.0 ports ?

Recommended Posts

I recently built a new system that includes both Intel and ASMedia USB 3.0 chipsets. Thinking that this would not be a problem I connected my Adaptec USB 2.0 hub which sits on my desk and connects my keyboard, mouse, and gamepad to my computer.

After a while and a MB chipset driver update, I started to experience USB connection issues mainly upon Windows 7 startup. After repeated USB failures and cold boots, I decided it was time for my seven port Adaptec USB 2.0 hub to go (over 5 years old).

Shopping around I noticed that the options for multi-port USB 3.0 hubs were slim pickins. Mainly 4 and 7 port versions. The 7 port hubs almost always had operational foot notes or caveats. I finally discovered something that stood out and was new in the market.

Check this out: Manahattan Mondo 28 port USB 2.0 & 3.0 hub w/power.

I ordered this USB hub and it is now running on one of my MB Intel USB 3.0 ports with no problems. The hub has (24) USB 2.0 ports and (4) USB 3.0 ports. You can turn off/on each USB port separately with a push button.
