CES 2018 - Razer Announced A Wirelessly Powered Mamba Hyperflux Mouse

Recommended Posts

Many of you might have seem some wirelessly charged mice from Razer Competitors, but Razer has taken it one step further with a Wirelessly Powered Mouse. What that means for you is that there's no battery, and you don't have to worry about forgetting to charge your mouse after a long session of gaming.

Razer Mamba Hyperflux with the Flirefly Hyperflux mousepad.

The Razer Mamba Hyperflux looks very similar to the Wireless version, but that's about all it has in common. Everything else is different especially the fact that you need the Razer Firefly Hyperflux in order for the mouse to be usable.

For those of you who like a hefty mouse that has some weight this mouse might not be the one for you as it is pretty light compared to some of those hefty mice options out there.

The mat for the Firefly Hyperflux will be switchable, so if you like a harder surface you'll just use the hard side and if you want to switch back to the softer cloth surface you turn the mat over.

"But what happens if the mat dies, am I out of luck all together and just have 2 paper weights now?"  Luckily no, you'll still be able to have a cable for the mouse to use it. . but we don't see that cable being used often.

Overall this is an awesome step in another direction for wireless pc gaming. One of the big downfalls has always been having to charge your devices and this takes all of the worry out of that. Now time will only tell how the mouse performs wireless in those professional and competitive gaming scenes. Is it something that pro gamers will start adopting or will they stick to the wired options?

The Mamba and Firefly Hyperflux combo is set to be released sometime in Q1 2018, and said to be sold for $250. Let us know what you think about this combo and if you would be willing to purchase it.

At Pax, I pickd up the Logitech Mouse and got the charging pad on Amazon.  Razor is catching up in technology.

Logitech Powerplay Wireless Charging System.  I got the G903 Mouse for it.

I used to be a huge razor person, I had a black widow ultimate Rrb, and death hatter mouse also rbg. The keyboard got old and gross, and I broke the mouse (not rage I swear). I recently swapped over to corsair and I like it a lot better actually :)

That's a pretty neat setup, wouldn't fit in my desk space.  I still use my G510 keyboard, and Razer Naga Epic, I've thought of replacing both, maybe going with a cherry mx silent option.

I haven't personally tried any Corsair HIDs, but if their keyboards and mice are anything like their memory, cooling, et, it should  be a hell of a product.  I'd loose out on the macro keys but it would probably be better for my desk.

The thing I'd really like to find is a decent wireless headset, similar to my G930's minus the cheap plastic structure....  My fat head has busted so many damned headsets.
