We have been running inhouses for almost 10 months, and it's the players that keeps them going. We've heard feedback from many sides as to what inhouse drafting process is the best. We've tried autobalancing, which simply does not work for what we'd like to achieve in our section. We have narrowed it down to two types of drafting, and we are asking you which process you'd prefer. I will give a description of each to refresh your memory. You will not be able to see how others vote on this poll as we'd like to keep this as civil as possible. In the case of a tie or incredibly close vote, we will perhaps alternate how we draft each week. This poll will run for 2 weeks. If you do not care either way, it is up to you whether you vote or not.

Option A: Captain Draft

Two similar skilled captains or similar playstyle captains are chosen. A coin is flipped, the winner of the coin flip gets to choose whether they pick first or second. First pick chooses one player, and every turn after that 2 people are selected. Classic drafting like you've probably seen in school. (1 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 2 - 1). Traditionally last pick gets to choose the map, however we can also randomize it. A full competitive game is completed, then we repeat the drafting process with a new set of captains.

Option B: SR Balancing

Teams will be generally based on SR (Or for unranked players, level/previous seasons/playstyle). Teams will be lightly remixed after every full competitive game, while still keeping the integrity of closely balanced gameplay. The map is chosen based on a random number generator picking a number between 1-12, to then select the player who gets to choose our map.

Please keep in mind neither process will ever be perfect. I know that there are flaws both ways, however at the end of the day we the staff are here to make inhouses fun. You are welcome to comment below respectfully supporting your choice if you wish, or you may choose to remain anonymous while voting. It is possible in the future we may revisit this topic to ensure that our current playerbase is always satisfied.

I (Liz) will not be voting.

To me it seems that we've had an appreciably higher percentage of balanced games and many fewer one-sided stomps while trying the SR balancing style.

Idk I kinda like the captains thing, that way you can chose to have one of your closer friends on your team that you work well with.

What Ex said, muh dudes.

Also, it ensures that some people don't feel like lost sheep always picked last- which helps with map diversity too!
