Getting Refunds For Pokemon GO - Please Don't Do This

So while scrolling through Facebook, I saw someone post this wonderful GEM:

I just got all money spent on this game refunded back instantly . I mentioned update killed tracking and third party tracking websites and made my purchases function differently then expected

Get your refund before time runs out!!!

And give reasons why it's functions differently then expected.

I said "A game that tracks pokemon, now has no means whether ingame or third party to track the pokemon is a change in game function. The update changed how the main game is played in terms of tracking"

The last 2 weeks purchases should be an instant refund and the rest either 5-7days or needs to be reviewed, either way you should get the refund

Your account will be fine, Apple will get a refund from the game and not disclose your user information

If for some reason the above reason doesnt work do the "Other" option and you will be contacted by apple

And well all I can say is that I hope anyone who reads this DOESN'T proceed with these sort of actions. Personally I just feel like this individual is an entitled adult who thinks they deserve perfect and thought that there would be nothing that was broken at any point in time in the game. 

Was the broken tracking frustrating? Yes it was, but that's why the majority of my time during the broken tracking times was at parks where I could get my monies worth, and work 

To say that they broke third party tracking websites is a legitimate excuse for a refund is asinine due to the fact that it's said to be against the ToS for Pokemon GO.  

 

Don't want to talk about this person further, but I really hope that nobody here will go directly to Apple/Google if they want a refund, rather go directly to Niantic.  And if you do go to Apple/Google and you get banned I won't feel sorry for you. :)

Niantic wasnt really expecting this game to be as popular as it has been, given that ingress wasnt a very mainstream game either. But thats insane that people are wanting refunds just because they removed tracking. I'm sure that the feature will be brought back once the issues with it have been sorted out.

Agreed and from what I read they only had 50 employees in their entire company. Granted that's most likely increased now in the past 3 weeks since they put job postings up right away after they saw things hitting the fan.

Right. Personally I hadn't heard of Niantic or Ingress until shortly after Pokémon Go's announcement trailer. So it wouldnt suprise me if they weren't using some older cheaper servers too originally

Same here. . haha

 

And I don't think they were using cheap servers per their job listings. (Wanting people who were proficient in AWS and Google Cloud) I think it was just a matter of the man power or the lack of proficient knowledge of AWS/Google Cloud that caused the problems.  Seems like they're moving in the right direction now at least for the past week or so. Let's hope for continued positive experiences moving forward :)
