I like windows 10 so far.  The only annoyance I've experienced is Nvidia's problem with using my color settings in the Nvidia Control Panel.  I never had this problem with Win 7 or Win 8, and I'm still trying to work it out in Win 10.  Seems that my screen color settings go back to default when I exit a game or a program, sometimes it just does it randomly too when the display refreshes.  Hopefully Nvidia will work this out with a driver update, I don't really blame Win 10 for this.

Something as simple as this shouldn't be a problem for a major player like Nivida, but there it is.

Windows 10 is awesome, but I have not had the best experience with SLI setup, in particular surround mode. Switching between surround and standard display mode is so incredibly buggy that I have no desire to use surround at all. When leaving surround all my monitors go dark but one. I have to extend one at a time to get them to show up again. Back in 8, they would all come back right away but would be out of order. The numbers were also random and not valid, which made it a pain to get them back correctly. They somehow made that process worse :(

Leaning more towards Windows 7 style, with things from Win8 mixed in. The start menu is a start menu but it also has a smaller version of metro tiles to the right but can customize it.

I've actually come to really like the new Win10 start menu, also love that they carried over the improved file transfer system. Really hated the file copy system on Windows 7 used TeraCopy.

Just wondering how "easy" people found installing 10 over a Win 7 install. Does it automatically update drivers? Has anyone found issues with legacy hardware such as printers, sound cards etc? Any software incompatibility issues. I am aware of the Norton Ghost 10 issue and any comment on this would be appreciated as well. Thx in advance for any help.

Windows 10 at it's core is the same code (as Vista... OMG), so to answer your question yes it's easy. Just start the install and answer few questions about your current install if your upgrading. Grab a beverage and wait about 15 - 20 minutes and DONE,

YOU NEVER WANT WINDOWS UPDATE to update your drivers. By the time they are processed and approved most of the time they are already a version behind,

Upgraded to Windows 10 last weekend without issue from Windows 7 myself.  My only beef I had was it forces updating in the background, even if your doing something (i.e. severe lag spikes / DC's in the middle of a BF4 match or any other game for that matter).  Only way I found around this so far, AFTER talking with MS Support for several minutes to no avail, was to go to my services option under administrative tools, and disable windows update service.  Just remember to turn it on every so often to check for updates.

On a side note, I am falling in love with Cortana for Windows 10, especially being able to launch BF4, Teamspeak, my browser, etc with a simple voice command, instead of taking that extra effort to place my hand on my mouse, and double click the respective icons on my desktop. :)

Be careful upgrading.  There are some nasty "Windows 10 Upgrade viruses" that simulate the real thing, but instead they're actually going to screw up your system.

Best recommendation would be to run some virus scans prior to the upgrade... just to be safe :)

I'm going to wait at least a year before I upgrade. Last time I upgraded my windows, I had TONS of driver problems and it literally took me almost the whole afternoon to repair.

I like it, other than the fact it spy's on your more than Google which I thought was virtually impossible.

Microsoft say there is no way to remove it and don't plan on making it possible either.

Actually you would be surprised what google tracks from analysis added to sites, chrome, android  and chrome os. The data collection is astounding. Couple sites I run use google analytics and I know not only very device and device info and location but everything about you as a user except your birthday and name.

Married, kids, location, ip's, devices owned, sex (Male or Female), age, preferences, search results (yes I know my user's who like porn), OS and version, PC set up,  etc etc. Newrelic even steals more info from you.

Wait till IPv6 releases, I will then know your name and birthday plus exact location...... Thinking some track more than others is ridiculous, they all track your every online move and with cars being more automated, phones, ipads etc, even when you move you can/will be tracked...

just like people uploading photos taken from phones, they can be tracked to gps coordinates, date time and camera data pin pointing YOU. All free on facebook, picasa etc....

Windows 10: The newest way for Microsoft to collect all of your data and provide it to marketing companies without your consent.  Screw that.  I will bump up to 8.1 when I order my new graphics cards, but I will definitely not do the Windows 10 BS.  At least not on a computer I use for gaming and making online purchases.  One of my work laptops has Windows 10 on it.

I agree with this, but at the same time google does it daily, apples done it for years, windows is actually last to the party. There is a tool to stop it from doing all of this as well.

IMPORTANT : Win 10 will automatically install on 7,8.1. You should switch to manual mode only until you find the update.

Update: Kb3035583
If you have this already you will have the download windows ten program

I just dont want to rebuild my computer for 7 bajillionth time again. Win 10 recently fixed most their driver issues so maybe i will do it. Edited by Fullmetal1212

If you use the start screen as a launch pad like it supposed to be its actually not that horrible to use. I am also a icon nazi. I refuse to have 10 million icons on the desktop. I use the desktop folders for active projects. And a few bat launchers. That's it so this makes it run pretty nicely

Windows 10 has rendered one of my computers nearly useless, and significantly improved the other. I'm rather unimpressed with it, and it screwed with one of my laptops...
