      Battlefield F.A.Q. [Please Read]   04/18/2016

      After multiple questions coming up that were about the same topic we have decided to create a little F.A.Q regarding some of the most talked about topics. Please make sure you read EVERY question and answer. First thing's first, please use the search feature before you ask a question because it might have been answered already: CLICK HERE TO USE THE SEARCH FEATURE Q. I've been banned what do I do? A. Visit the "Ban Info" menu at the top of the page and click that appropriate link that relates to your ban. Then make sure you fill out the form properly after reading the guidelines to submitting a ban dispute Q. What do I do if someone is hacking? A. If you are in game you can report said individual using @report 'playername' REASON HERE If that doesn't help you, you can always submit a ban request by visiting the "Ban Info" menu at the top of the page and clicking the appropriate link Q. Can I submit a request for a new server, or a smaller special server? A. Sure but to put it bluntly most requests have been made already so rather than making a request that has already been made you should visit THIS LINK. That link talks about how we can go about getting more servers and what needs to be done to get those. Q. Well why don't you change some of the servers that you have now to those special servers? A. Because we have those servers as they are what stay full and are the easiest to keep populated. Just because 5 people like something doesn't mean that it's a smart option to keep a server that those 5 people think is a good server. Q. Why don't you change the ticket counts? A. Ok this is where you need to start realizing that the admins at ADK have been running servers for well over a combined 20 years if not more. We promise we're not going to do something that won't work and if we do happen to do that we have our admins making sure that we try to provide the best servers possible for as many people as possible. We love suggestions but when the suggestions are made that make us seem like we don't know what the heck we are doing that's when it's a little overboard. Again just because you and your buddies like something doesn't mean it's a great idea for a large gaming community as the server won't stay populated and pay for itself. We do want to start bringing more of those to the community, but please refer to the answer of the 3rd questions where a link was posted regarding different servers and how to make it happen. But to answer this question some, on certain servers like our BF3 TDM, it is meant to be a quick round server where you have a match that ends quickly. Some people don't want to play a round that goes on for 30 minutes, and a lot of people have enjoyed it. And again our admins do look at servers and how they are doing, but don't forget just because a few people want something doesn't mean everyone wants it. Q. How come I can't use explosives in a no explosives server but everybody else can? A. In actuality those individuals aren't supposed to either, but they are choosing to break the rules We are humans and unfortunately we aren't perfect to catch everyone. But our admins do the best that they can to be perfect and we have our auto admin in place for no explosives, but it comes down to rules are rules. If you choose to break them and you get in trouble, that is your fault and there is nobody else to blame. You can make reports and if admins aren't in the server they will go over them to see those who break the rules often and will deal with them. Just because an admin isn't in the server doesn't mean that we aren't looking at the reports. Q. Why don't you have servers that have multiple expansion maps on them? A. Because they are quite difficult to maintain unless you have people willing to be in the servers and make sure they are populated day in and day out. Please refer again to the link in the answer of the third question as this relates to that. If we have people who are going to make sure that these servers will indeed stay populated then possibly but so far we haven't been able to get that. In the past we've done B2K which a lot of people were begging for an it went nowhere. Q. There's someone cursing and using racist remarks in the server, why haven't they been banned? A. Because the reality of it is nobody will ever be happy, these are not remarks that you will see any admin using but we aren't going to police everybody and what they say. What one person might find offensive, the other person might not. So if we remove a few words then we'll need to remove all words that people find offensive. Now if the individual is spamming constantly and/or just being a troll about it you can always submit a ban request and let us know what was happening. Admins will then look over it to see what action needs to be taken. Q. Why don't you kick people who have a high ping? A. In reality high ping doesn't cause as many problems as a lot of people think. Admins have been talked to about how to handle something that is absurd but they will not kick someone with a 150 ping because people are complaining about them. We have members from all over the world and we're not going to limit what servers they play on. Someone's high ping to a server does not cause a server to lag. If the server is lagging it'll be everyone noticing it. BUT if there are only a few individuals who are complaining about lag, it's more than likely an issue with their connection to the server. The best thing to do would be do a tracert to the server, but most people don't want to believe that they might have an issue on their end or somewhere between their house and the server. And the reality is that there could be an issue that someone is seeing. There are plenty of posts about ping in the servers so feel free to do a search to look them up. Q. Why don't you just disable weapons that you can't use in the no explosive server? A. Don't you think we would have done that if it was possible? :) Q. Why can't I dispute a ban after 2 months? A. If people cared so much to play on our servers after a perma ban, they would come and dispute within the first 2 months. We feel 2 months is more than enough time to dispute a perma ban. Q. Why don't you have anything besides 64 slot servers? A. Again refer to the link in the answer to question number three. But long story short, it's not easy to keep small number servers populated as often as possible when we have as many servers as we do. Due to the fact that you could lose 15 people at a time in one game, there goes half the population of the server which could indeed empty the server. So if it's wanted we need people willing to put in the time and effort to do such and to make it so that there is always a queue for the servers. Q. Why does it seem like you guys get frustrated when people ask certain questions? A. Seriously though, it's because they are normally questions that have been answered multiple times and most of the time it appears that the question wasn't thought about in the manner of "Hey I wonder if anybody else has posted about this." Unlike Battlelog where things normally get hidden and admins don't respond, we do see pretty much 99% of everything that is posted without it getting lost because of the fact that we have admins for each particular section of the community. And those admins do make sure that we respond to topics where someone might have a question. So with that last question being answerd, please just take 10 seconds to browse the forums and search to see if your topic has been discussed before you go and make a post. If it's not too old or hasn't been answered feel free to leave your input but a lot of the same questions are coming up over and over. Ping, ping, ping, why can't I use explosives, ping, ping, can we have more servers, why can't we have these maps, why do you only have like 200 tickets on the TDM server, 64 players is a lot of people to have on a server, where are the expansion maps, why is this person using curse words and racist remarks and hasn't been banned yet. As always we do appreciate and ask for suggestions but most of the questions that we see over and over have been answered and could be answered for you by making a search on the forums. Here is the full list of changes and improvements included in the Winter Patch. All changes applies to all platforms unless explicitly stated otherwise. For highlights with pictures: [attachment=5003:Patchnotes_WinterPatch.pdf]
 
GENERAL IMPROVEMENTS 
- Added Squad Obliteration game mode 
- Added support for New player servers (rank 10 and down) 
- Added support for matchmaking into ranked servers (in addition to standard official) 
- Various anti-cheat improvements implemented 
- In combat system now temporarily disables squad spawning when squad mate is in combat 
- In combat system now temporarily disables Medic Bag healing based on damage taken and incoming suppression increase 
- In combat system now temporarily disables First Aid Kit healing based on damage taken 
- Decouple vehicle aiming from turning option added 
- Added Mastery Dog tags for several weapons that were previously missing 
- Added 3 new Premium playlists: 'Large Scale Battles', 'The Battlefield', and 'Close Quarters' 
- Fixed an issue that would sometimes cause an error about stats not fetching, if connecting to a session after immediately being disconnected 
- Fixed an exploit related to CTF/Obliteration exploit using M224 Mortar/MAV/EOD Bot 
- PC - Several AMD Mantle optimizations 
- PC - Various graphical performance improvements 
- PS4/XBOX ONE - Fixed a case where the Battledash would not show after signing out of a profile while in the rent-a-server section 
- PS4/XBOX ONE - Fixed naming inconsistency with the server browser and quick match for Conquest Large 
- Xbox One - Fixed an issue where the user would sometimes not enter friends online session when joining through 'Friends List' 
- Xbox One – Fixed an issue where Digital Premium Edition did not give premium access on Battlelog 
- X360 - Fixed an issue where performing a sign-in change during game would sometimes result in endless black loading screen 
- X360 - Fixed an issue where multiple users in the same squad would crash if the squad leader disconnected from a full server 
- Added option for player to separately toggle the slowdown and auto rotation components of aim assist. Server admins can now enforce a disable of the auto rotation component on ranked servers 
- All consoles - Fixed an issue where it was not possible to join a rented server that had a password set 
 
AUDIO 
- Footsteps: Significantly improved audio of footsteps for enemies and friendlies so that they can clearly be heard. Also fixed an issue where grenades explosions or other loud sounds would mute footstep sounds 
- Fixed an issue where EOR music would not play in CTF 
- PC - TDM/SQDM: 'Tension music' now correctly playing for all teams in TDM and SQDM 
 
ART 
- Updated the shading for many of the Dog tag country flags to make them more accurate 
- Animation: Cleaned up fast side to side movement of the character in third person 
- Fixed an issue where tracers would incorrectly show up on bullet impacts 
 
USER INTERFACE 
- Fixed an issue where the soldier camouflage selected would change to default between rounds 
- Fixed the cropped "Ready" status on the F-35 and J-20 fighter jets so that it is now fully visible 
- Fixed a HUD related issue that would sometimes occur when players on the same server would use the FLIR/IRNV 
- Dog tags will now display stats both in game and in menus 
- Several hit indicator and crosshair improvements 
- Fixed an issue where a player's health is displayed incorrectly when they get hit while regenerating health 
- Updated HUD Logic for several weapons so that they show "overheat" messages correctly 
- Tweaked Jet HUDs to be more clear 
- Improved scout helicopter crosshairs 
- All consoles - Removed an incorrect reference to parachute in the customization screen 
- Deploy screen - Added deploy screen advanced options to show vehicle passengers, more details on occupants and squad mates 
- Deploy screen - Improved squad mate selection when in vehicles 
 
VEHICLES 
- All helicopters have new more agile physics applied (you can do both barrel rolls and loops!) 
 
WEAPONS 
- Animation updates for m412 and sw30 
- Fixed an audio bug where the air missiles or TV guided missiles would play multiple times for one shot 
- Fixed an audio bug where the FAC boat cannons would loop indefinitely 
- Adjusted the graphics for the Kobra red dot reticle to make it longer to more closely match the actual reticle 
- Removed small animation played when going into sprint for any weapons that have a fore grip 
- Adjusted QBZ95 fore grip position in first person 
- Fix for RPK74 bolt cycle during fire animation 
- Improved HUD clarity for red dot sights against snowy/bright backgrounds - AND improved PS3/Xbox360 look as well 
- PS3/PS4 - Fixed an instance where a player would be unable to switch back to the bow from a secondary weapon if spawning as a passenger in a vehicle 
- X360 - Fixed an issue where Vehicle IRNV would not detect infantry on equal elevation properly 
 
MAPS 
HANGAR 21 
- PS3/PS4 –Fixed an issue where a user would get stuck when descending the ladder that leads to the lower Hangar 
- Fixed a sound bug that would cause the titan engine audio to become distorted 
- Fixed various smaller sound issues 
 
HAMMERHEAD 
- Fixed an issue where user would encounter snowing VFX inside of the hallway west of objective B if spawning on squad mate. 
 
PROPAGANDA 
- Fixed several collision issues based on community feedback 
 
PEARL MARKET 
- Fixed a collision issue which would cause players to fall down from the big neon sign that is used as a bridge between 2 buildings 
- Fixed an issue where a user could see through the game world after destroying part of a building situated near the CN base 
 
LUMPHINI GARDEN 
- Fixed several collision issues that would occur after the mudslide levolution was triggered. The mudslide has also been optimized to reduce visual glitches 
- Rush - Fixed issues with the EDO bot having no collision with several sidewalks around the US base first set of M-coms 
- Fixed an issue with an indestructible window in the house at the center of the map 
- Fixed an issue where a player could get stuck behind the pipes at Flag C and be forced to redeploy 
- Xbox One - Various issues collision near the valves and between them after the levolution event 
 
SUNKEN DRAGON 
- Fixed several collision issues based on community feedback 
 
ROGUE TRANSMISSION 
- Made collision conform closer to render mesh for destroyed track pieces. Moved collision volume in the level to accommodate the new changes to the adjusted object collision 
- Fixed several collision issues based on community feedback 
 
ZAVOD 311 
- Fixed several collision issues based on community feedback 
 
METRO 2014 
- Fixed an issue where users where able to get C4 kills through the roof 
- Fixed several collision issues based on community feedback 
 
FLOOD ZONE 
- Fixed several collision issues based on community feedback 
 
HAINAN RESORT 
- Fixed several collision issues based on community feedback 
 
OPERATION LOCKER 
- Fixed several collision issues based on community feedback 
 
SIEGE OF SHANGHAI 
- Improved collision issues on several skyscrapers 
 
DAWNBREAKER 
- Fixed an issue where a user is unable to deploy Radio Beacon, MAV and similar gadgets on the boardwalk located north from the water and south from objective C 
- Fixed several collision issues based on community feedback 
 
LOST ISLAND 
- Added collision in the ceiling of the cave so that is no longer possible to hide there with the little bird 
 
GULF OF OMAN 
- Lights now no longer stay intact once building is destroyed

At the same time a new server update was released: R48

 

New features and fixes:
- Support for various in-game netcode improvements
- High frequency update bandwidth requirement cut in half
- New game mode added (Squadobliteration0) for the following maps: MP_Siege; MP_Abandoned; MP_Resort; MP_Tremors; MP_Naval; MP_Journey; MP_Prison
- Four new MP Experiences added (PR0LARGE; PR0SMALL; PR0CLOSE; SQOBLITERATION)
- Added support for New player servers (rank 10 and down). This can be tweaked by either setting the preset to “NOOB” (new preset) or by leveraging the vars.IsNoobOnlyJoin new RCON switch. This new preset is identical to the OFFICIAL one in terms of game-play settings.

I played a bit this morning, it feels amazing. Hitreg seems almost spot on (could be a placebo) I love the customization's of cross hairs. The colors, sizes, everything. It's awesome! :D

YES! Thank you DICE and EA for actually making the medic class less cheap. I love that you can't heal from medic bag while in combat now. 

Now all they need to do is make it so no one can bunny hop around the map. Hate those players....

i believe for a few patches this has been in effect but the change they just made it also has effect on the first aid kit which people switched to when they setup medic bags not to heal during battle

The med pack changes finally make suppression fire really make a difference as well as keeping your target in combat he can not heal or have member spawn in on him

Since the patch, every time I leave/quit a game BF4 crashes. Anyone else having the same issue?

i went through a bought of that, I uninstalled the origin app completely and reinstalled it, along with the browser plug in. . . some told me it's a Google issue, never tried IE or anything else as it all went well after the reinstall . . .

cons of new patch: new music playlist ,this still a sound glitch sound would realy low but I could still hear and about 10 min later it would return to normal sound , have yet to see weapon overheat anim for the pistols doesn't look any different I still get flir and irnv looks like a normal scope until change weapon and then changing back to said weapion

Wife's PC had a few issues (crash, wouldn't go into a server) after completely uninstalling the plugin for web browser worked fine. I think their installer doesn't uninstall properly and leaves some older code behind.
