War Im gonna have to say no to the h100. Honestly from what I have seen on the benchmarks, while on idle and low usage the h100 does good, its when you push the CPU is when the h100 is just terrible. My Hyper 212+ I got for 25 dollars does the samething but slightly better. And I have thought about getting that cooler many many times.

Yeah, the H-100 wouldn't work in my case anyway (after taking some measurements and hitting the forums). I decided to go for the Noctua DH-14 LGA 2011 edition instead. Very impressive benchmarks (some say the best) for an air cooler, and the fans are also among the best. This cooler should be awesome with my modest (4.5GHz) OC goals.

See and these are the mix results I get. I keep reading about how some people are getting temps up in the high 50 or 60 range with slight OC when they run Prime95 or something. I dont know if these guys are just stupid and dont know how to set up a proper WC system or what But I have been temped many times to get taht cooler.

I want to know, what are you MAX temps, and I mean when running something like prime 95 the CPU is pushed to the max. With my hyper 212+ I get a max of 55 of any core Avg about 52 c.

And speaking of watercooling I had a sudden idea which turns out a thought others had too: http://www.overclock...lub-aka-the-mod

Check that out. I think this is good.

That is a VERY interesting mod! Definitely something to keep in mind for future builds/projects. I'm pretty happy with my Gigabyte GTX 670 OC with the Windforce cooler. After looping the Heaven benchmark for over an hour, it never got above 57C, and when playing BF3, it never gets above 52C (these results are with my own OC factored in), so I'm pretty happy with this card, its graphics performance, and its temps. I can't recommend this edition of the card strongly enough, although I'll bet that others with enhanced coolers (Twin Frozr III, etc.) are getting great results as well.

Added 2 screens of 45 minutes in, and few minutes after. Hard to see them, but if you left click, save as, and open on your PC you can see better.

Top temp 104F (40C), best idle temp was 87.8F (31C) well into a good range (gets lower but outside temp of 70F, if the outside temp is 65F temp I sleep at, idles at 78ish F). With my case I did spike to 111F (44C) until I opened the louvers on top, dropped in seconds to a stable 104F. Mobo temps remained steady at 89.6F (32C). Mobo is all heat sinks with no mounted fans.

The radiator has only 3 out of possible 4 fans at the moment, sure the temps would drop a couple more degrees (not much) with the 4th fan.

Very nice temps! I hope I get close to those kind of numbers!

To sum, here is what I have on order:

- ASUS P9X79 PRO X79 LGA2011
- Intel Core i7 3820
- Noctua NH-D14 SE2011
- CORSAIR Vengeance 16GB (4x4GB) @ 1600MHz CML16GX3M4A1600C9B

I use the term "upgrade" rather dubiously since MY rig is already pretty damn good (see siggy). What I'm really doing is upgrading war_jr's rig from LGA 775 to LGA 1155. I could have just gotten another LGA 1155 chipset rig, but then I though that for relatively few $ more, I might as well splurge since I will be hanging on to this chipset for a while. It does provide some measure of future proofing in that if games begin to use more than 4 cores, I could always just upgrade my CPU. However, such a thing is not likely at least for the next year or so at least.

Should be fun building this out!

O man this is tempting...

a few of the pictures in this thread you linked make me want to get an H70, Some 1/16" thick Al tubing, and a zotac HS for a 570, solder my happy little ass of and voila a badass liquid cooler for a GPU with TWO rad's and 3 fans pushing air to cool down the radiators and water moving through them and the HS contact point......hrrrmmmm. Too bad it probably wont fit onto a non ref galaxy card...time to bake the GPU in the oven and scheme.
