I seriously am debating taking a break until they fix the Suppression saturation...
you cannot hit ANYTHING now if you are suppressed your accuracy goes to nothing!

That suppression is more to real life and a feature of BF over other games. I haven't played it yet, so don't know first hand, just what I have read so far.
I have noticed Dice will go, seemingly, extreme when they tweek something. For example, the IR scoop is all but use less now since they adjusted it, agree it was OP stock, but they went so far. Few other adjustments too, just that was epic for me as I used it.

I think the fact that suppression decreases your weapon's base accuracy is ridiculous. The blur is tolerable, but it really isn't fun at all to be suppressed, and I play to have fun. Suppression = no fun = no play.

I am new here but after taking a break from it and stepping back for a few, smoking a cigarette and thinking about being suppressed in Iraq...it MAY be over done a little bit for CQB purposes and MIGHT require slight adjustments, and i mean fractions here. I only say this because in all reality if your being suppressed your not supposed to be poking your head out trying to shoot, your supposed to be trying to find a way around or waiting until the other guys run out of ammo. In CQ this has the issue of places like metro where (in 64) they dont ever run out of ammo. Then I believe it's just going to come down to who has more balls, who is faster on the draw, more creative, and adaptive to the combat environment. THAT is what surviving the battlefield is about adapting to overcome and outlast. just my .002

Yeah, I just don't see a mechanic that actually negates your ability to react in a video game a good mechanic.

the IR scope is now 100% useless indoor (tried it in Metro and still couldn't see shit)
Don't know about outdoor ... but if it's the same as it was indoor, yeah it's now 100% useless.

Worse outdoor, can't even see trees much less players now.

I thought the AS VAL was nerfed?
MP7 with extended mags and laser sight is pretty epic in CQC (and I've gotten a few kills at ~40 meters with it as well). Magnum is even awesomer now.

Well ... so far, I've flown a bit in Caspian/Firestorm and I must say ... it's a little tricky compared to what it was.
The minigun dmg has been reduced by a bit, making areal kills a little more challenging and the rocket pods are now pretty much ... uh, I don't know... weird.
I've tried to Guided Missile with the jet, lock on time has been decreased by alot making them worth the shot ... and they also seem to have their dmg increased as well (tho this might just be due to the tank armor nerf)
The Havoc has got its maneuverability buff by alot as well (comparable to the viper now) but the guided rockets seems to be off-center (on both choppers)
(I have seen that the textures seem to have a role in the accuracy of the rockets ... seems weird said like that but believe me, I've played with 2 types of hardware and one seems to be more accurate than the other .... which leaves me wondering.)
The ECM is now 90% useless
Flares are now OP for both Jets and Choppers but more specially choppers since you can have 2 sets of flares (10s/20s)
You can now see the red laser painter on the nose of a chopper (quite disturbing ... I though there was a soflam in mid air lol)
RPG's/SMAW's are a 1 shot 1 kill on choppers/jets (I've seen it)
The Anti-Aircraft has been buff the hell up ... the minigun on the AA seems to have it's range & accuracy increased by A FUCKING LOT, it was already OP ... now it's even more OP. (But I think the LAV & Tunguska also got their armor nerfed but I'm not 100% certain about this one.)
-
Guided Missiles for jets are pretty much a 1 hit disable on any types or armored vehicles (not sure if they follow the Jav rule for when your target is painted, in this case they'd probably do more dmg if that's the case.)
So far that's pretty much what I've experienced about the patch.
Buckle up and get ready for a bumpy ride.
(Final note... if you are using the BF3 Realmware setting editor, it's outdated and it doesn't seem to work anymore, my hardbrake isn't kicking in so... for now, it's 99% useless. Waiting for an update.)

My patch download is taking forever. Don't know if I'll get any time this morning.
My take on suppression (and I hope this is the case).... If they improved it, I am all for it.
My gameplay is rather aggressive. I hate camping (unless sniping). I generally charge ahead and kill anything in my path.
So far with BF3, I've had innumerable deaths where I charge up behind enemy and start to shoot, I get a couple shots into them, then they spin and kill me with one shot.
So if actually getting in a couple shots ahead of the other guy helps me actually kill that guy before he kills me, I am all for it, and I look forward to trying it out.
It really really sucks to get the drop on an enemy only to get single-shot popped AFTER you've put a couple bullets in their butt (and you continue to shoot).

Tanks are TFU!
Balance - Engy may be more fun to play.
Bullets from sniper rifles (when you're the sniper) look like potatoes. No way to see where you're missing.
Balance - Maybe fewer camping snipers??
AA is very much more effective against jets and helis
Balance - Maaaaaybe (just maybe) we can see an end to helis camping way behind the uncap and killing vehicles across the map.
I didn't notice any difference with suppression, but I only played Caspian and Firestorm so far
I LOVE now that when I hit a chopper with the tank's unguided missile, it was INSTANT KILL!!! No more #%$%#$ bailing or suiciding. I get the kills now.

All I have to say is that as soon as I am getting suppressed in BF3, Hellen Keller would probably have better luck getting a kill then me.
