Well, it's official. Actually, I'm surprised we (the military) were able to keep a lid on it for this long. As you can see, the need to be ready to fight and win against the impending onslaught of zombies has resulted in the publishing of unclassified training manuals to ensure their widespread availability at the tactical level.
Since the training need is greatest for the land warfare component, the Army has led the way with publication of its training manual. Since the need is real for all services to defend their basing installations and infrastructure, the release of training manuals by the other services will occur in the near future.
If this doesn't convince you that the threat is real, nothing will.
